This isn’t a book about organized religion or joining a cult—there are plenty of other organizations doing that already. Who the heck knows the “right” answers anyway?

I wrote this little book—or piccolo libro—for my 10-year-old self, who was completely unprepared for this big question: what happens to us after we die and is God part of the answer?

This is a question that is both timeless and immediate: one that shapes how we live, how we love, and who we become. My hope is to share notes to help you begin your own journey toward the sublime mystery that forms the backdrop of our existence.

Where it will take you—a riverbank on the Ganges, a Chinese New Year parade, or the first sight of the boundless, timeless divine in your own being—is for you alone to discover. Do not let anyone—or anything—a sacred text, a guru, a community, or even yours truly—tell you otherwise.
